Last Updated: 29/08/2026
Welcome to Writing Worlds. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Writing Worlds website, services, features, and content (collectively, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using Writing Worlds, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About Writing Worlds
Writing Worlds is a platform for discovering, reading, experiencing, and publishing creative works, including stories, novels, poetry, photography, artwork, essays, audio, video, and other forms of creative expression.
Writing Worlds may introduce, modify, suspend, or discontinue features as the Platform develops.
2. Eligibility
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must be legally permitted to use the Platform under the laws applicable to you.
If you are under the applicable age of majority or minimum digital-consent age in your location, you may use Writing Worlds only where permitted and with any required parental or guardian involvement.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- keeping your login credentials secure;
- maintaining the security of your account;
- all activity carried out through your account; and
- notifying Writing Worlds if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must not impersonate another person, create accounts for fraudulent purposes, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account or part of the Platform.
Writing Worlds may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
4. Roles and Platform Access
Writing Worlds may provide different account roles and permissions, including Readers, Contributors, Editors, and Administrators.
Access to particular features depends on your account role and the permissions assigned to it.
Becoming a Contributor does not provide access to administrative functions.
Writing Worlds may approve, restrict, suspend, or remove Contributor access according to its Contributor policies and these Terms.
5. Using Writing Worlds
You may use Writing Worlds only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You must not:
- violate applicable laws or regulations;
- abuse, harass, threaten, or intentionally harm other users;
- impersonate another person or organization;
- submit misleading or fraudulent information;
- attempt to circumvent security or access controls;
- interfere with the operation of the Platform;
- introduce malicious code or harmful software;
- scrape, copy, harvest, or systematically collect information from the Platform without authorization;
- manipulate engagement metrics or Platform systems;
- use the Platform to distribute spam;
- infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights; or
- use Writing Worlds for unlawful or abusive activities.
6. Creative Works and User Content
You retain ownership of the original creative work you submit to Writing Worlds, subject to any rights you separately grant under these Terms or other applicable agreements.
By submitting or publishing content on Writing Worlds, you grant Writing Worlds the limited rights necessary to operate the Platform, including the right to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, format, technically modify, and make your content available to users as part of the Platform.
This permission is intended to allow Writing Worlds to provide its services and does not transfer ownership of your creative work to Writing Worlds.
Writing Worlds does not acquire ownership of your creative work merely because you publish it on the Platform.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions for anything you submit.
7. Content Requirements
You must not submit, publish, or distribute content that:
- infringes copyright or other intellectual-property rights;
- violates another person's privacy or other legal rights;
- contains unlawful material;
- is intended to facilitate illegal activity;
- contains malicious software or harmful code;
- constitutes harassment, threats, targeted abuse, or serious intimidation;

Writing Worlds may remove, restrict, hide, or decline to publish content that violates these rules or presents a risk to users or the Platform.
8. Copyright and Intellectual Property
You must not upload or publish someone else's work without appropriate authorization.
If you believe content on Writing Worlds infringes your copyright or other rights, you may report it through the Platform's reporting mechanisms or contact Writing Worlds using the contact information provided on the Platform.
Writing Worlds may investigate reports and take appropriate action, including removing or restricting access to reported content.
False or malicious reports may themselves violate these Terms.
9. Contributor Publishing
Contributors may create and manage their own works through the Contributor Studio subject to Writing Worlds' publishing rules.
Contributor access does not guarantee publication.
A submitted work may be reviewed before publication.
The Administrator retains editorial control over publication decisions.
Contributors must also comply with the separate Contributor Terms / Contributor Guide where applicable.
Contributor access may be suspended or removed if the Contributor violates Platform rules, publishing requirements, or applicable law.
10. Free Publishing and Monetization
Publishing on Writing Worlds is free unless Writing Worlds explicitly states otherwise.
Writing Worlds does not provide a built-in marketplace or selling mechanism for contributor works unless such a feature is officially introduced.
Contributors who wish to monetize their work may direct users to legitimate external services through links permitted by Writing Worlds' policies.
External transactions are conducted independently of Writing Worlds.
Writing Worlds is not responsible for transactions, disputes, fees, services, or contractual relationships between users and external providers.
11. Collections and Featured Works
Writing Worlds may allow users to propose Collections subject to its Collection proposal rules.
A proposal does not guarantee that a Collection will be created.
The Administrator retains editorial control over official Collections.
Writing Worlds may also feature selected published works through its Featured Works system.
Being Featured does not constitute a ranking, endorsement, guarantee of popularity, or guarantee of continued visibility.
Writing Worlds may remove or replace Featured works when necessary.
12. Comments and Community Interaction
Users may be permitted to comment on works and interact with other users.
Comments must comply with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.
Writing Worlds may remove, hide, restrict, or moderate comments that violate its rules.
Users should not use comments to harass creators, deliberately provoke abuse, spam, advertise without permission, or attack other users.
13. Reporting and Moderation
Writing Worlds provides reporting mechanisms that allow users to report potentially inappropriate content, comments, accounts, or other Platform activity.
Reports may be reviewed by authorized Writing Worlds personnel.
Writing Worlds may take actions including:
- removing or hiding content;
- restricting content;
- requesting changes;
- suspending features;
- suspending accounts; or
- terminating accounts.
Moderation decisions may depend on the circumstances, severity, evidence available, applicable law, and Platform policies.
14. Automated Systems and Technology
Writing Worlds may use automated technologies, including search, recommendation, moderation-support, analytics, or other technical systems.
Automated systems may assist Platform operations but do not necessarily determine every editorial or moderation decision.
Users must not attempt to manipulate or abuse automated systems.
15. Third-Party Services and Links
Writing Worlds may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites and services.
Third-party services are operated independently and may have their own terms and privacy policies.
Writing Worlds is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of third-party services.
You are responsible for reviewing the applicable terms before using an external service.
16. Privacy
Your use of Writing Worlds is also subject to the Writing Worlds Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how Writing Worlds handles personal information and related privacy matters.
Writing Worlds complies with applicable data-protection laws based on the user's location and the circumstances of processing.

Writing Worlds may use essential cookies and similar technologies necessary for authentication, security, functionality, and operation of the Platform.
Additional technologies may be used where permitted and appropriately disclosed.
For more information, see the Privacy Policy.
18. Platform Availability
Writing Worlds aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
The Platform may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical failures, third-party services, network problems, or circumstances outside Writing Worlds' reasonable control.
19. Changes to the Platform
Writing Worlds may modify, add, remove, or discontinue features.
Where appropriate, significant changes may be communicated through the Platform or other reasonable means.
Continued use of Writing Worlds after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where legally permitted.
20. Account Suspension and Termination
Writing Worlds may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account when reasonably necessary, including where:
- these Terms are violated;
- Community Guidelines are violated;
- Contributor requirements are violated;
- unlawful activity is suspected;
- an account presents a security or safety risk;
- fraudulent or abusive behavior occurs; or
- required by applicable law.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, Writing Worlds may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue.
Termination does not automatically transfer ownership of a user's creative work to Writing Worlds.
21. Effect of Account Termination
Following termination:
- access to the account may be disabled;
- access to account features may be removed;
- Contributor permissions may be revoked;
- unpublished content may become inaccessible;
- published content may be removed where appropriate under Platform policies; and
- certain information may be retained where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
The Privacy Policy explains applicable data retention practices.
22. Disclaimers
Writing Worlds provides the Platform on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this section limits rights or protections that cannot legally be limited.
25. Changes to These Terms
Writing Worlds may update these Terms as the Platform develops.
The “Last Updated” date will identify the latest version.
If a change is material, Writing Worlds will provide reasonable notice where required by applicable law.
